The little village Virserum in Swedish southern county of Småland has a rich musical tradition and since two years a big, very well organized music festival week in June. The church of Virserum has two great organs, rich in colours and possibilities, on this CD also combined with carefully used syntheziser in an interesting anachronia.
One former, and today´s organist, Greta Lundkvist and Leif Dahl, play on this newly recorded CD organ repertoir covering time from Sweelinck´s 16th century via Buxtehude, Bach, Mozart, Beethoven (sic! He wrote ONE piece for organ...) and Franck, up to music by contemporary Swede Hilding Rosenberg, music by Duke Ellington and Chess-composer Benny Andersson and also arrangements of Swedish folklore.

THE CRITICS:
Barometern: " The two organists complement each other very well and their musical choices are varied and extreamely enjoyable. Greta Lundkvist impresses in Rosenberg and the odd Beethoven piece. Leif Dahl presents Mozart, Ellington and graceful adaptions of some Swedish folksongs where he also combines the sounds of a synthezeiser with the rich organ voices. The finale, with both organist together in César Franck´s Prelude, Fugue et Variation is magnificent!"
