Bergslagens Kammarsymfoniker /Bergslagen Chamber Symphonics is a sparetime orchestra with musicians connected to the region Bergslagen in the middle of Sweden. On this CD they present six orchestral pieces written directly for the orchestra during the last 20 years - the latest one recorded in January 2000. Meet an ensemble deeply connected to a mountainious and mysterious landscape, playing dynamic, entertaining, strange, open and introvert music.

THE CRITICS:

Fanfare Magazine: "This program by a semiprofessional orchestra located in the Bergslagen area of Sweden is a pleasant enough release. The most interesting item is a quarter-hour symphony by the respected organist and church music composer Gunnar Thyrestam. The music is permeated by the folk melos of the Bergslagen region. "
