Swedish Baritone Saxophone player Boo Egebjer (homepage http://boo.egebjer.just.nu) here presents his latest, and maybe greatest work for choir and ensemble - S:t Eskilsmässan/The Mass of Saint Eskil.
This sacred piece is a beautiful example of how Egebjer music works - jazz improvisation with classical composing, choir and soloists. A small jazz group meet choirs of both children and mixed adults thus making this sermon very solemn and beautifully meditative.
The piece was comissioned by Österhaninge Congregation situated in the clean countryside just outside Stockholm and the mass is performed with local singers. |
