This is really an unusually romantic, harmonic, well played and beautiful CD, containing virtuoso music for the French Horn and Orchestra, performed by two of Sweden´s greatest artists in the field - Åshilld Henriksen (originally from Norway, OK...), Solo Hornist of and here playing together with the Helsingborg Symphony Orchestra, all conducted by Hannu Lintu. A collection of the most beautiful pieces for this lyrical brass instrument, by Mozart, Saint-Saëns, Dukas, Larsson and Glière, played with such grace and artistery, and such an easy and effortless virtuosity that you really believe in the saying that the world´s best hornists are female! |

THE CRITICS:
Helsingborgs Dagblad: "One of the most exciting about being a music revuer is that sometimes I discover I really like music I was rather sure I would not like. Many times I was forced to reconsinder composers or pieces, and when I swallowed my pride and confessed that my earlier opinion was based on prejudice, it feels like I won a victory over my bad, conform and lazy me. This CD contains music I never would have looked for, but it gave me much pleasure the passed weeks. Åshilld Henriksen is playing with great commitment and utmost superb finesse."
