Jim Nilsson, born in 1967, studied at the Royal School of Music in Stockholm, and Hochschule
für Musik in Basel where he was awarded a soloist diploma 1997 after studying under Oscar
Ghiglia. He has on a number of occasions been awarded scholarships by the Royal Swedish Academy
of Music. In 1995 he came third in the international guitar competition at Gargnano, Italy. Jim has given concerts at music festivals in Sweden, Finland, Germany, Switzerland and Luxemburg. He teaches at the Danderyd Kulturskola outside Stockholm and freelances as a soloist as well as a chamber musician. On this CD he plays known music by Torroba, Barrioa Mangoré, Piazzolla and Ponce and also new music by Sergio Assad.
