On this great CD the pianist and composer Stefan Lindgren presents pianopieces by Charles Valentin Alkan: The monolithe Concerto from the magnum op 39, parts 8-10, recorded at a live concert at Nybrokajen 11, Stockholm. This piece is more than 50 minutes long, and gives a great insight in the musical world of Alkan, as well as in the mastery of Stefan Lindgren. The other work on the CD is not less imposant: The Sonatine op 61 in four movements, recorded by the Swedish Radio already in 1992.
