A couple of years ago people in the little county Järfälla outside Stockholm, Sweden, started collecting folk music in traditional style, but written today. Very many new tunes turned up and were published in at book. Now the folk music society of Järfälla made parts of this collection to sound. We have here a unique documentation of traditional, new folklore, living TODAY! Many of the tunes are performed by the authors and totally 97 musicians were involved in these recordings, playing, fiddle, accordion, clarinet, keyed fiddle (the national folk instrument of Sweden) table harps, and old brass instruments not in use nowadays. An amazing journey both back in time and into our own living future today. |
